Helen Lieros Voice programme is a programme that has been designed in honour of Helen’s Art Legacy. Helen loved to teach and put-up art exhibitions to promote emerging and young artists in Zimbabwe. This programme will offer art lessons to the less privileged community. This programme will teach both boys and girls and will not exclude adults who wish to pursue their art lessons.
Derek Huggins’ programme is designed to take care of the well fair artists that he has been working with for the past 40 years. Most of the artists have passed on leaving children behind. Art in Zimbabwe has no pension like other careers or countries where artists make fortunes out of their work hence when they die their families struggle. Derek Huggins during his lifetime has been helping artist’s children and families with support from school fees, hospital bills and general upkeep. This programme will also help struggling and upcoming artists with art raw materials.
Depending on funding, this will be a mix of financial support, artistic / curation services and art supplies.
